Floral pants and overalls are a trendy item this season, and they can look especially lovely in a rose garden where most think to grab for a flowy dress, you can be the one to shake things up a bit. The delicate flowers on the pants will complement the blooms in the garden, and the flowing fabric will make you feel like you're floating among the flowers like a camouflage butterfly.
Here are some tips for styling floral pants in a rose garden:
Pair the pants with a simple top, such as a solid-tone t-shirt or a light blouse. This will help to draw attention to the flowers on the pants which are already a busy pattern. I'm wearing a peach sleeveless top from Scotch & Soda that I purchased on a trip to SF but even a white tee would've been cute.
Accessorise wisely. When exploring the outdoors in style, a crossbody or waist belt bag helps you go hands-free for photo taking, coffee holding, or frolicking. I knew we'd be walking for a while so it was nice to have my phone safely tucked away so I could click some pics with my Canon. I thrifted this Michael Kors monogram waist belt bag from an online boutique. Here's the link to similar ones if you fancy snagging one yourself. I only have this one in a khaki/cream but after writing this blog I'm going shopping for a brown or black one too now that I've reminded myself how I want more, haha! I honestly have a slight obsession with luxury label belt bags and fanny packs.
Don't forget to be sun savvy. Straw hats are in this season and conveniently keep the sun out of your eyes and your head protected, you gotta love a functional trend. Here's the one I've been wearing non-stop this Spring.
Count your steps fashionably. No really! I have an Apple watch that tracks my daily exercise and LET me tell YOU this thing really motivates me to get up and out. I can't tell you how many times it says "Hey stand up and move!" with its little beep reminders. Since I'm such a computer nerd it's good to have something to keep me in check or else I can spend hours glued to the screen. Walks through gardens and parks like this are a great way for me to close out my activity rings and get some much needed air. I got new straps for the watch and they were incredibly affordable and easy to throw in the wash when they get dirty (or self-tan stained, lol).
Here are some of the best places to find trendy floral pants and overalls:
Online retailers: There are a number of online retailers that sell trendy floral pants. Some of the most popular retailers include ASOS, Pretty Little Thing, and Nasty Gal. I got these from Cider which is a newer brand to me, but so far I'm really liking their selection. In fact, if you search "floral pants" on Cider SO MANY cute options pop up, I'm about to go shop for more, I'm obsessed.
Department stores: Many department stores, such as Macy's and Nordstrom, carry a variety of trendy floral pants.
Boutiques: Last but certainly not least, local boutiques often carry unique and trendy clothing items, including floral pants but you're going to need to do some digging. This is hard for me to recommend with examples because I don't know what your local shops offer but it's always a good idea to check them out. Especially since local means not everyone has access to it, therefore, you get a unique piece. Bonus if you find some sweet 70's thrifted ones, I'd be so jealous!
No matter where you choose to buy your floral pants or how you decide to style them, you're sure to turn heads when you wear them, especially in a rose garden. I got so many compliments from folks admiring the flowers on the stems and on me! Now get yourself a bouquet on your bum and go for a long stroll-
xoxo,
Seanna
